Toni & Guy Styling Clay

When opening the tin, the styling clay does look exactly like clay. It is a browny red colour and when scooping the product out with fingers, it feels much like a clay texture. In fact when comparing the Styling Clay with the previously tested Fibre Putty, there is very little difference when applying with fingers, except for colour. Like the Fibre Putty, the styling clay is very soft and pliable and is easily manipulated between fingers. I found the best way to apply to my hair was, again to rub between my palms and massage into my hair. I found that the clay was easily absorbed into my hair. A little easier than the fibre putty. Once massaged into the hair, it is then easy to style the hair into shapes. The big difference I found with the Styling Clay is that it dries to a firmer hold. I prefer this to the Fibre Putty. I found the Styling Clay held my style for longer and even after taking off my cycling helmet, my style was pretty much in tact Like all the products I have tested, the Styling Clay has the same fresh smell, which smells like a fresh, clean aftershave. The styling clay works a little better in styling and holding longer hair. I have tested the product on my hair at 3/4 and 5/6 clipper length. Unlike my usual hair product, the clay can't be rubbed out of the hair. This is a good and bad thing. I like the fact that I can rub out my usual hair product and it doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy. However with the Styling Clay, it can't really be rubbed out, which is good for the rigours of everyday life when you want the style to remain. The styling clay isn't easy to wash out. In fact with three washes using normal shampoo, I could still feel the product in the hair. The Toni & Guy Shampoo is very effective in washing out the product. The best way to wash out the product with normal shampoo is to rub in the shampoo dry and then wash out with water. When comparing the Styling Clay with my usual styling product, I prefer the Toni & Guy Styling Clay because it smells nicer, it holds better. The only thing that would put me off buying the Styling Clay is the cost. I don't think it is worth the cost. I am a bzzagent and have been given this product free to test in exchange for giving my unbiased opinions.
